- Abstract
The article provides the historical background for two unsigned poems “Wilde Harvie's Pilgrimage: An Alleged Autobiography of Harvey Murphy,” and “An Alleged Reply by Murph," written in 1932 and attributed to “Red" Malcolm Bruce about Canadian communist Harvey Murphy. Topics include communism in Canada in the 1930s and 1940s, biographical sketches of Murphy and Bruce, and Communist literature in Canada. The poems are both presented in their entirety.
