- Abstract
Adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) is a slow-growing but relentless malignant neoplasm that can arise in the salivary glands, respiratory tract, breast, and skin. SP 1 sp Distant metastases have been documented in more than 50% of salivary gland ACC, with lung being the most frequently affected site, followed by bone, liver, and brain.2 Cutaneous metastasis is extremely rare. (B) Skin biopsy showing confluent nests of basophilic tumor cells in the dermis (hematoxylin-eosin, original magnification 100×), with tumor necrosis (red arrow) and lymphovascular invasion (inset, original magnification 200×). The parotid tumor comprised sheets of neoplastic cells bearing similar cytomorphology to the skin nodule, except that duct-like structures were occasionally found (Figure 1C, D).
