- Authors
Selinger, Vyjayanthi R.
- Abstract
An essay is presented on the associative connections that historians make to their narratives. It cites the two narratives about the imperial sword at the Battle of Dannoura, the "Gukanshō" by Jien and "Tsurugi no maki" which show the imagistic association through trope categories revealing political narrative. It adds the use of metaphors by historians as a way to connect objects from different domains particularly events separated by time.
