The article discusses the early history of Greenland, New Hampshire, focusing on the genealogy of the Weeks family, descended from early Greenland settler Leonard Weeks. It examines the separation of Greenland from Portsmouth, New Hampshire in 1704 following a petition to New Hampshire Governor Joseph Dudley. Weeks family members discussed include Leonard's son Joseph Weeks, his grandson Dr. John Weeks, and the early twentieth century U.S. Senator John Wingate Weeks.
