- Abstract
The article presents a study which aims to determine whether exposure of Nasonov glands (ENG) is linked to the honeybee recruitment for individual larvae to be reared as queens. It states that the study uses behavioral observations and video recordings of the initial phase of the queen rearing process. It states that the mechanism for the selection of larvae that will be raised as queens is uncertain with nepotism thought as the underlying reason. It concludes that Nasonov gland odor was involved in honeybee orientation.
