The article discusses the Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution in relation to the regulation of digital searches in America as of March 2013, focusing on the plain view evidentiary doctrine, a right to privacy in the U.S., and the application of American search and seizure laws to computer data. Other topics include ex ante warrant regulations, fraud and identity theft evidence, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit case United States v. Stabile.
