- Abstract
The relevance of the problem under study is conditioned by the need for ecological education, upbringing and enlightenment of all groups of the population, especially the younger generation. The article aims to study and identify the level of environmental consciousness development and its structural components among the preschool children. The article is devoted to the socio-psychological understanding of the concept of preschoolers' environmental consciousness. Based on the study, it is proposed to identify, describe and qualitatively present the structural components and levels of the ecological consciousness development of preschool age children. The leading method for studying this problem is diagnostics, which allows considering this problem as a dynamic process. The authors apply testing to establish the development level of ecological consciousness and of its structural components among preschool children, to identify the dominant structural component of preschool children's ecological consciousness. The article presents and describes a clear structure of ecological consciousness, consisting of four components: knowledge, attitudes, focus, and intentions. Special attention is paid by the author to identifying and describing of environmental consciousness levels of preschoolers. It is shown that the formation of a child responsible attitude to nature is a complex and time-consuming process, its result is not only mastering certain knowledge and skills, but also developing emotional responsiveness, ability and desire to actively protect, improve and enrich the natural environment. The data obtained in the work can be used in pedagogy, practical psychology, ecological psychology, as well as for further theoretical development of this issue, since the problem of preschoolers' ecological consciousness is a fairly new field, where there are still many unresolved problems and questions requiring their further study.
