This is a study where the Survey Method as one of the descriptive methods was used. For gathering data for the research, interview technique is applied. For the workgroup, geography teachers from 17 different high schools in 2010-2011 semester in Gaziantep centrum were chosen and the interviews were made in frame of this study. A pilot application was made before with 4 teachers by using prepared semi-structured interview form. The questions are re-structured by making the required changes in the light of the obtained data. The information obtained as a result of the interview with the teachers were analyzed with use of descriptive and content analysis. With reference to the teacher views it has been determined that the problems encountered in class arise out of the students and the teachers usually show precautionary, progressive and reactive model approaches. The answer for the question of "securing the class management" was "the sufficiency of the branch knowledge", as the answers for the other questions were mainly "having the sufficiency in educational sciences". It is suggested that the teacher candidates to be trained more sufficiently by considering the problems encountered in class and in accordance with the modern class management approach, which is fitting to progressivism philosophy and the teachers to be given a periodical in-service training by considering the changing conditions in the profession of teachers.
