- Authors
Teff, Justin S.
- Abstract
The article argues in favor of a constitutional amendment in New York constituting a local merit-based appointment system for state supreme court justices and reviews the history of judicial selection, particularly that of the state supreme court. Several principles can be learned from the historical review of judicial selection in the state. One is no system will remove partisan and personal politics from the process.
