The article presents an abstract of the research "Too many to fail—an analysis of time-inconsistency in bank closure policies," by Viral Acharya and Tanju Yorulmazer. In this study, the researchers formalize too-many-to-fail guarantee in a framework wherein the optimal bank failure resolution policies are derived based on a well-specified objective for the regulator, which involves maximizing the output generated by the banking industry.
