- Abstract
The article discusses a study which examines the role played by ACE2 (angiotensin-converting enzyme 2) in the human response to viral lung injury caused by COVID-19. It mentions that ACE2 in patients with influenza was significantly lower compared with patients with severe COVID-19 but showed a similar time-dependent pattern, with higher values measured in samples obtained at later time points after intubation.
