- Authors
Sawyer, Thomas H.
- Abstract
The article discusses a court case where a parent brought negligence action against a school district for damages for alleged liability in the student's injuries sustained during cheerleading tryouts. Ballou was trying out for the varsity basketball cheerleading team and was injured while trying to perform a prep cradle twist. The court held that plaintiff raised a genuine issue of fact as to the defendant's inadequate supervision resulting to failure to protect Ballou from an increased risk.
