- Abstract
The article discusses the influence of late U.S. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR) and late Marshal of the Royal Air Force (RAF) John C. Slessor of the allied military deployment in Northern Ireland. It highlights the role of both leaders in the prevention and management of epidemic infections as Belfast suffered outbreaks caused by meningococci in 1906-1915. The Slessor arrangement with FDR had also resulted from the ABS conversations of January to March 1941.
