- Authors
Pera, Martin F.
- Abstract
The article focuses on a study done by scientist M. Stewart and colleagues on human embryonic stem cells (ESC) showing how the cultures of these cells contain subpopulations having distinct functional properties, and discusses the developmental capacity of human induced pluripotent stem cell lines. It describes the experiment done by Stewart who examined ESCs in vitro and in vivo by using retroviral transgenesis and a genomic Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique to mark single human ESCs.
