Nightingale's travels in Egypt in 1849-50; Events of Nightingale's time as Superintendent of Nurses to the British Army hospitals; Description of the lantern by Fanny Margaret Taylor, a nurse at the Barrack Hospital in Scutari; Poem created by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow that elevated Nightingale to the level of an icon.
