- Abstract
The article describes the process that the Kentucky Department of Libraries and Archives (KDLA) went through in developing an official state archival repository system. The challenges faced by KDLA in getting federal support is discussed. The first facility at Coffee Tree Road in Frankfort in 1982, the digital archiving plans in 2000-2002 and the public-private partnership that helped KDLA build a State Records Center on US 421 South are tackled.
