- Abstract
The article focuses on the problems faced by scientific industries and teaching professions in the U.S. The recruitment of prospective science teachers and scientists is identified as one of the major problems in scientific industries. The factors that contributed to the existence of these problems include an acute shortage of scientists and science teachers and a decrease in the number of college majors in science and mathematics. The Future Scientists of America Foundation in cooperation with scientific, educational and industrial organization attempted to resolve the problems through encouraging high school students who are talented in science and mathematics to do creative projects, exhibits, experiments and reports then submit them to local science fairs and meetings.
