Bulgarian Violin Pieces for the Studio.
- Authors
Hayes, David
- Abstract
The article introduces Bulgaria's rich musical tradition that is hardly known in the U.S. due to political and language barriers. It highlights three Bulgarian violin pieces selected for their accessibility and imaginative composition such as "Rachenitza," by Petar Hristoskov, "Sevdana," by Georgi Zlatev-Cherkin, and "Song and Horo," by Nedyalka Simeonova. The article is based on a study of literature for violin from the Union of Bulgarian Composers based in Sofia.
