- Abstract
Rate sensitive deformation behavior of a soft Sn–0.6%Cu alloy was investigated by the macro-indentation and indentation-relaxation tests at room temperature to evaluate the consistency between the results found by different localized testing methods. Testing by cylindrical, pyramidal, and spherical indenters yielded strain rate sensitivity indices, which were in good agreement with each other. It is concluded that despite different geometries, stress ranges, and testing conditions, very similar results could be achieved by these small-scale tests.
