- Abstract
This document discusses the use of belatacept, an immunosuppressive drug, in pancreas and kidney transplant patients. The study found that belatacept did not provide sufficient immunosuppression to reliably prevent pancreas rejection in patients who had stopped taking tacrolimus. However, the study suggests that a combination of belatacept and low-dose tacrolimus may be a safe option for selected patients with severe gastroparesis or prolonged delayed graft function. Further research is needed to confirm these findings. The document also includes information about the patients' characteristics and outcomes, as well as the authors' conflict of interest disclosures.
