- Abstract
Okra [Abelmoschus esculentus (L.) Moench], known as lady's finger, is native of South Africa and Asia and valued for its edible green seed pods. The plant is cultivated in tropical, subtropical and warm temperate regions around the world. Since seed is the important input in agriculture, seed treatment and /or seed pelleting is commonly followed to ensure and increase yield in many agricultural crops. The concentration of nearly all the elements present in flyash, made it to be used as an amendment and as a fertilizer in agricultural soils. Hence, a study was formulated to elucidate information on the use of flyash seed pelleting on seed yield in bhendi. The study revealed that the flyash pelleting @ 200 g kg-1 registered significantly higher values for plant height, days to 50% flowering, number of branches, number of fruits/plant, fruit length, fruit girth, fruit weight, number of seeds/fruit, seed weight/ fruit, seed yield/plant.
