- Abstract
The article discusses a study of hunting attacks by the Powerful Owl Ninox strenua, which consists examination of search and attack techniques. It states that Ninox is supposed to be the largest nocturnal bird of prey in Australia, and mentions that reports of attack on Sugar Glider Petaurus breviceps by the owl. It notes a successful capture of a Grey-headed Flying-fox by the owl and cites techniques of handling of recently caught birds.
