- Title
THE LAST WORD. Practical Ways to Improve Medication Adherence.
- Authors
Apgar, Toni L.
- Abstract
This article discusses how family physicians can improve patients' medication adherence. The ways mentioned include being aware of the tendency to use medical jargon, being clear about the benefit of the medicine, and moving their patients' prescriptions to mail order if possible. Discussed also are why patients lie about taking their medications, such as they do not care whether they get better, they feel fine, and they do not want their doctor to be disappointed in them.
