- Abstract
INTRODUÇÃO A anorexia e a bulimia nervosas são distúrbios alimentares que têm como características um medo excessivo de engordar, percepção distorcida da própria forma corporal e autoavaliação baseada no peso. Na internet, alguns indivíduos criaram grupos denominados “Pró-Ana” (Anorexia) e “Pró-Mia” (Bulimia) com o objetivo de oferecer apoio e incentivo para pessoas portadoras desses distúrbios a continuarem adotando práticas inadequadas em busca do corpo perfeito: restrição alimentar severa, uso de medicações anorexígenas, métodos de purgação e atividades físicas extenuantes. Esses indivíduos utilizam blogs e grupos em redes sociais como redes de incentivo, cujo conteúdo explore o tema do emagrecimento e rituais de comportamentos, configurando, assim, um campo de riscos, prejuízos e comprometimento à vida. OBJETIVOS Problematizar como a participação em grupos virtuais pró-ana e pró-mia, nas redes sociais, impacta o adoecimento dos transtornos alimentares. METODOLOGIA Realizou-se um estudo de caso clínico com uma jovem de 19 anos, superior incompleto, diagnosticada com anorexia e bulimia nervosa aos doze anos, quando sua pediatra observou o retardo no crescimento sendo, então, encaminhada para psiquiatra, psicólogo e nutricionista, mas rejeitou tratamento até os 15 anos. O instrumento utilizado para a produção dos dados foi uma entrevista semidirigida, cujas narrativas discursivas produzidas pela entrevistada foram submetidas à análise. Trata-se de uma pesquisa de campo exploratória de abordagem qualitativa submetida ao Comitê de Ética em pesquisa da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, tendo sido aprovada em 10 de setembro de 2020 com o parecer de n° 4.267.821. RESULTADOS A história clínica da paciente teve início no período da adolescência quando começou a fazer balé e, ao se comparar com outras bailarinas tinha desejo de ser “a mais magra”. Com o intuito de emagrecer, passou a pesquisar na internet dietas e participar de grupos virtuais pró-anorexia e bulimia. A entrevistada descreve sua experiência de participação nesses grupos como “horrível” e relata que se sentia influenciável a seguir regras ditadas nesse meio, por exemplo, períodos que não se poderia comer nada. Em caso de descumprimento dessa regra, punições eram estabelecidas (gravar vídeo comendo gema crua), tal como pontuou em seu discurso. As imposições e restrições alimentares além de fomentar a ideia de competição pela magreza nesse ambiente virtual também sustentava a sensação de normalidade com os sintomas apresentados. Atos purgatórios como a indução de vômitos eram aclamados por outras participantes. O sentimento de pertencimento grupal e a obediência às regras funcionavam como uma espécie de reconhecimento de si através dos pares, portanto, esse espelhamento se constituía como uma forma de identificação. Atribuía à participação nesses grupos sua recusa a tratar-se, já que não reconhecia seu diagnóstico como doença psiquiátrica e sim, um estilo de vida. CONCLUSÃO As pressões sociais/estéticas, dores emocionais, a filiação e pertinência nesses grupos virtuais se constituem como grande potencial de serem fatores para contribuição do adoecimento, apregoam noções de normalidade dos sintomas e atrapalham a adesão ao tratamento com o incentivo de recusá-lo, permanecendo, assim, a manutenção do vínculo psicopatológico com a doença e a experiência do não cuidado de si e do outro, contribuindo para a não ressignificação dos diferentes modos de ser, estar e agir no mundo.
