- Title
OPPRESSED BUT NOT BETRAYED: A COMPARATIVE ASSESSMENT OF CANADIAN REMEDIES FOR MINORITY SHAREHOLDERS AND OTHER CORPORATE CONSTITUENTS.
- Authors
DeMott, Deborah A.
- Abstract
This article presents a comparative evaluation of the U.S. and Canadian remedies for minority shareholders and other corporate constituents. It refutes the common notion that Canada shares extensive similarities with U.S. on laws dealing with shareholders and equity. It examines the unique contribution of Canada to conflict resolution among shareholders and conflict resolution between nonshareholder constituents and persons controlling a corporation.
