- Abstract
The article looks at the U.S. policy toward Central Asia and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). It informs that the U.S. regarded the improvement of human rights situation and the implementation of democratization reforms as a prerequisite for continuing to provide economic and military assistance to Central Asian states, during 2005-2006. It mentions that the State Department re-structured its agencies responsible for formulating and implementing Central Asia policies in 2006.
