- Abstract
The article reports on the findings of the study that investigates the unusual linear analysis of Halimeda incrassata in shallow coral reefs in Abacos, Bahamas. It reveals that the specie reproduces individual thalli, detached branches and segments through motile gametes or fragmentation. It is observed that the segments produce prolific patches of rhizoids over vertical distances that proves their ability to outpace sediment buildups. It has been noted that halimeda contributes to the production of organic carbon and carbonate as well as sediment stabilization.
