- Abstract
The article presents information on dental research studies of occlusal contacts in centric occlusion. It refers to a study which investigated the number and distribution of the centric occlusion contacts in 46 children aged 13 and 14, and in 30 young adults aged 19 to 25 years. Another study investigated the number and location of centric occlusion contacts on the posterior teeth of 29 subjects, aged 18 to 20 years. It is concluded that provisional restorations in the form of acrylic resin fixed partial dentures with or without metal frames are an important instrument in full-mouth reconstruction.
