- Abstract
The article focuses on the assessment of anterior tooth coupling and equilibration using a diagnostic mounting. The final goals of an equilibration have been enumerated that include maximum neuromuscular relaxation, all posterior centric holding cusps should be opposing tooth fossae, and anterior teeth should be in light contact at the same time the posteriors occlude. It is stated that it should be ensured that the patient is neuromuscularly relaxed. For equilibration, accurate maxillary and mandibular models are made and a facebow registration is used for mounting the models on a semiadjustable articulator. The subsequent steps of the technique have been provided. Several guidelines followed in the equilibration technique are also included.
