The article discusses the results of a research related to reasonable doubt and its role in the judges' perceptions during trials in the U.S. Topics discussed include standards related to burdens of proof; quantification of standards for probable cause, substantial probability, and reasonable articulable suspicion in trials; use of standards by judges and juries to make decisions; and decision of the U.S. Supreme Court in the case "Ornelas v. United States."
