- Abstract
This article discusses the development of communism in Mexico during the beginning of the Cold War in the late 1940s and early 1950s. The author comments on the role of the Partido Comunista Mexicano (PCM), Mexico's communist party, which emerged in 1947 and which became major political power in the country at the time. The promotion of peace and disarmament by the PCM is also considered.
