- Abstract
The article investigates the problems countered by teachers of school age deaf-blind children who obtained their first consistent training after the creation of federally stimulated programs in 1970. Among the problems include the inability of the teacher to recognize children's extensive developmental gaps and limited behavioral repertoires which led teacher's selection of targets for which a child lacks prerequisite skills, significance of dividing the learning task into smaller steps than usual in order to identify the next task to program and the eccentric development patterns of children within and across behavior categories.
