The Covenantal Foundation of the Heidelberg Catechism.
- Authors
BROWN, MICHAEL G.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the Heidelberg Cathechism and explains why it is not devoid of a covenantal foundation that is based on the covenants of works and grace. Topics include how the Catechism provided a firm foundation for the faith of Reformed Christians, its perceived limitation of giving less treatment to covenant theology which is central to the Scriptures in terms of redemption, and the prominent role of the covenant of works and the covenant of grace during the Reformation.
