- Abstract
The article discusses efforts made by several medical and public health groups to increase public support for and confidence in childhood vaccines. Groups which include the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Association are urging physicians, public health officials, and policymakers to join the effort to support vaccines. Safety concerns due to sources of misinformation from Internet sites and news accounts are discussed. A strategy for better communication is included. The need for education and assurance from physicians is also mentioned. INSET: Immunization Resources for Physicians and Parents.
