- Title
Study Examines Effects of Advance Access to Emergency Contraception.
- Authors

- Abstract
This article reports on a meta-analysis of several randomized controlled trials which were conducted to compare advance provision of emergency contraception with standard access to the intervention. Plan B and other medications used after intercourse to prevent pregnancy were studied. Critics have been saying that access to these drugs would result in riskier sexual behavior and result in more unwanted pregnancies. The study did not prove that, finding almost no difference in the sexual practices of the patients with or without access to the emergency contraception. Further, the study showed no overall effect on pregnancy rates.
