- Abstract
This article offers a look at the cover art of this issue, which presents the painting "Portrait of a Lady," by Domenico Ghirlandaio. According to the article, Ghirlandaio was born during the Early Renaissance period in Florence, Italy. He was commissioned by Pope Sixtus IV to create a fresco cycle for the Sistine Chapel. He also worked on the Sassetti Chapel in Santa Trínita. Ghirlandaio was known for demonstrating human beauty in his small portraits. Quotes are taken from the book "Lives of the Artists," by Vasari.
