- Abstract
This document is a summary of articles published in the Annals of Internal Medicine. The first article discusses an evidence-based approach to fluid resuscitation for noncritically ill patients with acute pancreatitis. The second article provides brief overviews of 10 infectious disease articles from 2022, including topics such as febrile neutropenic patients, HIV-positive patients with cryptococcal meningitis, and Staphylococcus aureus bacteremia. The third article presents a randomized controlled trial comparing hypotension-avoidance and hypertension-avoidance strategies in noncardiac surgery. The fourth article discusses a randomized platform trial that shows a benefit of oral fluvoxamine and inhaled budesonide for patients with early COVID-19. The document also includes highlights from Journal Club, which cover various topics such as therapies for critically ill patients with COVID-19 and anticoagulation for distal deep venous thrombosis.
