- Abstract
An essay is presented which explores the attitudes of author Zora Neale Hurston on race, performance, and folk culture as depicted in the book "Seraph on the Suwanee." Emphasis is given to the literary representation of talented children and the interracial exchange between black artist and white observer. Other topics include cultural exchange, the autobiography "Dust Tracks on a Road," and cultural hybridity.
