- Abstract
The article discusses the impact of the corporate integrity agreement (CIA) signed by Cephalon Inc. with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Inspector General (OIG) on the health care industry in the U.S. The agreement signed by Cephalon is part of the global criminal and civil settlement worth $432 million by OIG which involve the off-label marketing allegations. The industry is also monitoring to see if the compliance of Cephalon will signal a trend or will represent a well-tailored agreement for a specific situation.
