- Abstract
The article presents a study which investigates the differences in ethnic and sex skeletal muscle (SM) in adults who are more than 60 years of age. A cross-sectional study was conducted on 468 male and 1280 female Hispanics, African American, and Asian adults who are 18 years old and above, wherein their SM were estimated based on the dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) measurement. Results revealed that ethnic and sex SM differences exist at the age of 27 years and onwards.
