- Abstract
This article discusses a case of a nasal nodule in an 11-year-old male castrated Golden Retriever. The dog had a history of various health issues, including subaortic stenosis and corneal degenerative changes. The nodule was incidentally found during tumor staging and was suspected to be a xanthoma based on cytologic interpretation. Biopsy and histopathology confirmed the diagnosis of xanthoma. Xanthomas are inflammatory lesions that occur uncommonly in domestic species, and this is the first published cytologic description of a nasal xanthoma in a dog.
