- Abstract
Histopathologic evaluation of these biopsies identified multifocal osseous metaplasia, fibrosis, and calcification (Figure 4). H&E Stain, 4× objective gl FINAL DIAGNOSIS Intestinal diverticulum, with osseous metaplasia, mineralization, fibrosis, and mixed inflammation. Histopathology of the tissue revealed a diverticulum within the ileum, likely due to a vitelline duct remnant, with associated osseous metaplasia and mixed inflammation (neutrophilic/histiocytic) (Figure 5).
