- Title
Barbara Mazur.
- Abstract
An interview with Barbara Mazur of Dupont Agricultural Biotechnology is presented. When asked about the technological challenges facing the agricultural biotechnology, she mentions the use of fairly blunt approaches to express genes for transgenic crops and the lack of understanding of gene networks. Mazur adds that double-stranded ribonucleic acids (RNAs) can now be used for pest protection while microRNAs can be used to control gene expression. She also discusses the capacity of technology to solve the emerging insect resistance in crops.
