- Abstract
The article reports on the ruling of Judge Jeffrey White of the Federal District Court for the Northern District of California that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) failed to adequately assess the potential environmental impact of the Roundup Ready sugar beets from Monsanto. The suit was filed by the Center for Food Safety in Washington, D.C. The other two genetically modified (GM) crops from Monsanto that the U.S. courts have ordered for the USDA to examine are creeping bentgrass and alfalfa.11
