- Abstract
The image created by André Rangel and colleagues shows how the use of biodegradable artificial ligament implants could represent a major milestone for anterior cruciate ligament rupture treatments. Nevertheless, to ensure the integrity of these ligaments in the first steps of the healing it is crucial to understand how different degradation scenarios will impact biodegradable polymers. The figure shows two different samples of medical-grade poly e-caprolactone degraded at physiological conditions for 6 months using different degradation media.
