- Authors
Thomas, Neil E.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the epic in an age of romance through reviewing the genre and discursive context in the Nibelungenlied (NL). It stated that the essential difference between epic and romance worlds can be demonstrated through further intertextual comparisons between Kriemhilt's experience, and Kriemhilt figure appearing in "Der Rosengarten." On the other hand, Siegfred of the NL is shown in the dual state of knight and warrior.
