- Abstract
The article discusses the foundation of the Janissary Corps during the Ottoman Empire in the 14th century in Turkey. It examines the roles of the second Ottoman ruler Orkhan and his successor Murad I in the creation of the famous corps. It notes the appearance of the tale in the books "Anonymous," "Uruj," and "Ashiqpashazade." It explores the foundation of the yaya or Turkish footsoldiers by the Ottoman Empire. Furthermore, it also mentions the three elements of the Janissaries as narrated in the historical tales such as slavery, white caps, and its patron saint.
