- Title
Did the Great Pyramid Have an Elevator?
- Authors
Sundt, Peter C.
- Abstract
The article investigates the construction of the Great Pyramid at Giza in Egypt. The Great Pyramid is composed of an estimated 2.3 million stones with a base which measured 230 meters on a side and a height of 146 meters. Several historians claimed that the people moved the stones through wooden sledges. One of the theories regarding the construction of the pyramid involves the use of one or more ramps. Another theory involves the use of an internal vertical shaft placed near the axis of the pyramid.
