- Abstract
The article describes the Post-Impressionist exhibitions of 1910 and 1912 that started a new period in English art and literature. It notes that the Manet and Post-Impressionists exhibitions were shown at Grafton Galleries featuring Paul Cézanne, Vincent Van Gogh, Henri Matisse, and Paul Gaugin. It cites the biography of Vanessa Bell, Virginia Woolf's sister and describes their experiments in portrait painting in 1910-1922.
