- Abstract
The article discusses the genre of books that are being read by middle school boys in the U.S. It highlights the results of an informal survey conducted by one of the authors, which revealed that most middle school boys prefer books with more action, adventure and suspense. It mentions several series of books which were frequently checked-out by middle school boys including "Maximum Ride," by James Patterson, "Cherub," by Robert Muchamore and "Alex Rider," by Anthony Horowitz. It also recommends the "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" series by Rick Riordan and the "Young Bond" series by Charlie Higson.
